Cyclades sailing is an
unforgettable experience. The winds in Cyclades are normally of force 4 to 5 and in some
case can reach force 6 to 8.Of course there are periods specially during May, June and
September that the winds are calm. The Cyclades islands where the center of the ancient Aegean civilization. The islands are dry with very little rains, and so there is not significant green on them looking like rocks thrown in to the sea where the waves have created extremely beautiful beaches and gulfs. The climate in these islands is fantastic. Because of the miss of rains they have the most shun shine than the other Greek areas and because of the sea and winds the temperature all over the year and in the summer are never getting extreme ; neither high, neither low. Starting from Athens Kalamaki Marina, sail the first day to cape Sounion and spent the night in a beautiful bay with a tavern ashore under the ancient Poseidon Temple, which was protecting and watching the ancient sailors on their trips. Next day sail to Kithnos and spent the night in the beautiful fishing village of Loutra. Then sail to Serifos and from there to Syros. In the way back pass from the beautiful Kea. Dont forget that except of the adventure sailing that you might have and the paradise beaches you will enjoy, to visit during night in every island the capital villages on the top of the hill. Each of them is extremely beautiful with small white houses and narrow streets. Sailing to Cyclades you will understand why these islands were the heart of the Greek ancient civilization and are the heart of the Greek Yachting. |
